It could be….
too many open apps/windows/tabs
Close some apps/tabs/windows if you have many open. This can occur especially when in Google Meets or when you have many Google Docs/Slides/Sheets open at the same time.
Chrome OS needs an update
Chrome automatically updates their operating system and sometimes needs a reboot to finish (and may cause funkiness in the meantime). If you have a notification in the bottom right corner, it may actually tell you that an update is available, “Restart to Update”. Close out any work, and click that.
a full or corrupted cache
Sometimes deleting cached data and cookies can clear up many issues. Perform the following steps to clear the appropriate data on your device.
While in Chrome hit Ctrl+Shift+Delete at the same time to open up the "Clear Browsing Data" window
Select "the beginning of time" from the top drop down
Select the following options:
Cookies and other site and plugin data
Cached images and files
Hosted app data
Click "Clear browsing data"
Once complete, close settings and try to login again.
your Chrome settings have been changed
Some apps or websites may have pop ups that you click “allow” for that may adjust some of your Chrome settings without you realizing it. To reset all settings perform the following steps.
In Chrome, At the top right, click More and then Settings
At the bottom, click Advanced.
Continue scrolling to the end and under "Reset Settings," click Restore settings to their original defaults
your profile is corrupted and needs to be reloaded
Sometimes your entire profile can become corrupted on the device and needs to be reloaded from Google. To do this you will need to remove your profile and reload it. Perform the following steps:
On the sign-in screen, click the profile that you want to remove.
In the lower-right corner of the profile picture, click the Down arrow .
Click Remove this user.
In the box that appears, click Remove this user.
Add the account again
